IT GETS WILD AROUND HERE
Chiswick Park is home to a variety of birds, fish, amphibians and mammals. Many have taken permanent residence here while others regularly visit...each helping to add to the dynamic nature of this workplace.
Many different species of birds can be spotted at Chiswick Park. Moorhens and mallards are permanent residents and we see some impressive flying visitors - including herons, cormorants, swans and terns. Find out why we're encouraging guests and visitors to swap their bread for seed, in the presentation below.
Schools of fish
There's a wide variety of fish in Chiswick Park's lake - including rudd, tench, golden orfe, ornamental carp and crucian carp. We conduct a bi-annual 'fish count' to ensure our fish are healthy.
Crossing land and lake – amphibians
We have a thriving population of frogs newts and toads- their spawn can be seen in the shallows of the lake, every spring.
We've placed purpose-built hedgehog boxes around the Park, in order to protect these vulnerable creatures from cats and foxes.
